Recently i had to place my mom in a nursing home.
Her and my dad purchased burial plots, my dad already has his in use, Had to set up the burial plot as irrevocable where you cant cash it out, thats the wishes of Medicaid.

This whole thing got me thinking if I meet my untimely end, then my kids will need to buy the plot and the whole nine yards or is it 6 feet. I always said to them that I prefer being ground up for bait chum and dumped overboard on a fishing trip for the family, but that maybe a little gruesome, even though I'd make excellent chum all I eat is fish. Anyone else thought about this.

Reading the topic header and the post itself, I am so much distracted by certain issues other than the topic that I just can't deal with the topic, which by the way is delightfully dark and "posthumorus" in nature.

It's too crowded there. Also, someone keeps digging holes.

In the land where there are no prepositions at.

Maybe I'll assume a postposition, and not even be a footnote in an obscure book on internet addiction and oil.

I don't really care where, but I want to be burried in a 1977 Chevy pickup truck like I used to have.

It would probably be cheaper than a coffin anyway...

Cheapest method possible. You can erect (or lay flat -for easy mowing) a marker to memorialize my existence. My mom and dad are cremated ..and fit quite nicely on the Haskell family plot in Norton (Nauhtahn) Cemetery. $25 fee to have the ground worthy containers placed.

..but there may be rendering plants that accept more than just horses in our future.

Donate your body to science so med students can have a good laugh. No seriously, I think donating is a very good thing. In fact, I carry a donor card. Ed

I often thought that they could get a laugh or two if I donated my body..

"This guy was walking?!

..but in reality, they'd just be hacking for practice and (probably) not really looking for the unique oddities of the cadaver being hacked.

My 15 yo cousin was killed in a car wreck in FLA last month. She wanted her organs to be donated, and that they were. Her dad decided to cremate her body and spread her ashes over the sea where she spent so much time with her friends...she LOVED skiing, swimming, etc.

Since you brought it up....
I was going to go for Soylent Green but thought it was too crass.

Well, I'm glad to be the first to express flatulences in mixed company. I grant you rights to "See what he made me do!?"

Donate the body, now that an excellent idea, no embalming or burial fees.

By the way a casket the cheap ones are $2300, opening the ground alone is $1275.
