What other OCD behaviors do you have?

I do this too. As we get older, we don't trust our short-term memory

I don't consider it OCD though, unless you check it ALL the time: before you lock the door, after you lock it, 5 minutes after you've driven away, 1 hour after you arrived at your destination, etc

My dad shook the front door of the house about a dozen times to make sure it was locked. Sometimes he'd even pause then start shaking again.

If it's 90F out, I'm jammin' away to some Boston or Rush or LZ, and I get "off-track"...say a line gets a little wavy...I'll finish that particular line and then walk my mower all the way around the finished portion, to redo it (I can't simply re-mow it, as the grass lays down and that would screw up the alternating look).

As you can probably guess, vacuuming also has a ritual involved. Yeah, I know these things are totally stupid...yet I can't help it, I don't feel "comfortable" if I don't do them "right." I will say this though: My OCD certainly doesn't hurt the neighborhood property values, which is more than I can say for the slobs in close proximity to my home. Hmmm, maybe I'll start mowing their laws too (I could use their grass for beta-patterns).

Heck, mow some lawns, get a paper route, maybe a BMX bike...I could be a better looking version of "Chris Peterson" from "Get a Life."

I have lots of OCD problems. Neatness is the biggest issue. Cars need to be clean, garage needs to be spotless (I scrub off tire marks from my floor), house has to be clean and vacuum lines need no footprints, etc. My wife has to put up with alot because of this and she keeps the kitchen clean and makes the bed everyday. I mop weekly and she vacuums twice a week. My office at work is always perfect to the point other workers comment on it quite often. I get irritated at people who dirty up my stuff. I've tried to change, but it's difficult.

I also check to make sure my zipper is up several times a day. Not really sure why I do but nobody needs to see that.

I'm pretty picky about my computer setup. IT gave me complete administrative rights because they don't want to deal with me anymore. Not that they're any more intelligent than I anyway.

Ewwww, some real sickies in here!!

For me, mainly, it's cleaning my hands.

And, for some reason I just can't go downstairs unless I double (triple

) check the toilet to make sure it isn't still running. Even if it hasn't been flushed...

As I've gotten older, it's gotten worse..

I remember as a child walking home from school, I would always avoid stepping on the sidewalk expansion gaps. Anyone else do this??

Yes, & count steps so it would be even # over some interval.

I too would do this. Not the counting ..but trying to avoid them. Except it wasn't so much avoiding them ..but more like asking "why doesn't this ever fit to my stride"? Perhaps some form of latent persecution complex

Yep, I did that too.

Oh man, OCD behaviors - where do I start.....

A somewhat common one: - TP has to roll off the top.

SHOULD be a rare one: - A long time ago I used to count letters in words that end in 3's. "Like to go to watch" I count the letters as in: lik-eto-got-owa-tch. I like it when they end in 3's! ----->

I better stop there.
