Yeah that's true about the taxes part... and I agree that $3 isn't a big deal too. Really it's miniscule in the whole context of everything involving car care.
The Nissan oil filters are $9 at the dealership. I may well be wrong but the blue ones are supposed to be really well built. The red versions are all right too but not quite as good.
I do think the aftermarket filters are more than up to doing a good job like you said too. I just like giving you a hard time. .
