Here is a video of the before and after of the intake valves of my Renault Clio. The car had an intermittent vacuum leak that raise the idle speed to 4500 rpm, but I wasn't able to find this massive vacuum leak, so I replaced every gasket on the intake manifold and walnut blasted the intake valves that were in a really bad state.

After cleaning them a few dark spots remained here and there, but I didn't go for the "Valves so clean that you can eat off them" because other than the vacuum leak, the car did not had any other driveability concerns like hard starts or anything like that.

The car has 110,000 km and is a 1.6L petrol with indirect injection.

Wow, I'll make sure not to purchase a car with that technology!

What?

I'm sure he meant port injection as opposed to newer DI gasoline engines, not the indirect (prechamber) injection as seen on older Diesel engines.

Me too.

DI is ok if used with port injection as a few manufacturers are doing. it surely costs more for the dual systems so they will come slowly.
