Hey guys,

I have been using the Trop-Artic SemiSyn 5w30 in my GMC 5.3 and haven't had one bit of trouble using it. I am a 3000 mile OCI guy so hence the $1.68 oil using. My question to all of you is Wal-Mart in the process of not carrying the Trop-Artic? I have been to my local Wal-Mart and there isn't even a spot on the shelves anymore so I went to another Wal-Mart that was a few miles farther and they had a place for it but none on the shelves and none in the back. If you all know that Wal-Mart isn't going to be stocking the Trop-Artic anymore do any of you know another store that is carrying it?

Thanks
Butch l.

I have noticed over the past 2 years that fewer and fewer WM's are carrying TA. If there is a spot on the shelf, ask or call the store to see if they are going to restock it. I wouldn't be surprised if they are thinning the herd and just going with MC as their low cost semi-syn oil. Many AZ's are dropping Havoline for more FormulaShell shelf space, and the selection in my AAP's does not have as many brands as a year ago.

If you are looking to get it, I would check out one of the suppliers. In my area I can get any one of the CP's for $2 per qt but purchased only by the case. When my stash runs out, I plan to go with either TA or 76.

Here are the suppliers in KY:

I have never seen trop arctic here in new york.

I've only seen it when i go to stores out west.

If you buy the motorcraft oil it is pretty much the same thing.

A chain of Wal Mart-type stores in the Midwest called Pamida stock it for a similar price. Not sure if you hav those in KY. I also think I've seen it at Dollar General or Family Dollar before. Good luck.
