I like how Dodge retained the temperature gauge and ammeter!

383?

The car belongs to the grandparents of the young man who was driving it.

I drove one from California to Minnesota decades ago and it had a 440 , it was cruising in style.

Thanks for sharing. This is in the era when Chrysler was making great profits on every car they sold. They were all virtually the same "black sheet metal" underneath with leaf springs in the rear and a K subframe and torsion bars in the front.

I loved all those big cars the Big Three + AMC made from about 1965 thru 1977. Mopar made some amazing machines. I recall they had some ads calling several models part of their Plymouth - Rapid Transit System and The Dodge Scat Pack! LOL Street sweepers and track beaters for several years.

I remember the California Highway Patrol would be driving these up and down the Highways, don't know what they had under the hood but when they nailed it, You heard it. :D

I like that. There are a couple of clubs in the USA who are into the Dodge Polara Police Interceptor cars from the 70s. These collector/restorers have some amazingly looking authentic cars they have put together as close to original as they can. Many
of them came with the 440cui engines. It is crazy to think about how it was back then for police to have to gear up with some
monster muscle cars to attempt to tame or catch a whole generation of young guys who could go out and buy race track or
drag strip ready muscle machines off dealer show room floors. I never forget when Alabama State Troopers went out and got
a load of the AMC Javelins to chase speeders. I saw several of them passing thru Bama a couple times a year on vacations with parents. It was a thrill for a guy just a year away from driving age in those days.
