Anyone who owns a TGDI or a GDI engine should be using the newer spec oils to reduce the possibility of LSPI.
^^^THIS!
I take the D1G2 spec as an absolute minimum for oil I will put into an EcoBoost engine.
IF an oil 'meets' the D1G2 NOACK spec, but is still over 9%, I will NOT use it!
I want to use an oil which beats that spec BY FAR in EVERY catagory, yes, even if the VERY many naysayers, and 'frugal minimalists' who abound on here claim "You don't need it".
MY car/engine, MY choice, despite their 'opinions'.
