Are there any concerns in using a high mileage oil in a new engine?

I have cases of Valvoline MaxLife and MaxLife Synthetic left over from my previous car. They appear to be higher quality versions of Valvoline's regular dino and synthetic oils, but I don't know about those seal conditioning additives...

Valvoline says it can be used in new and rebuilt engines. I would think it is not a problem, but there may be a warranty concern if your warranty specifically requires an oil with the starburst certification, because Maxlife does not have the starburst.

It is make your new engine high mileage!

I see no problem with it, and I am in the same boat as you. I got 25 qts frere through e-bay and AZ rebates, and then sold the vehicle I was planning on using them in. The Maxlife oils do not contain seal swellers, just conditioners and should have no effect on them if you later choose to use a regular oil.

I like it in my 2002 with 30K on the odo... I don't worry about the 75K Mile thingy, just a gimmick.
