Real claim to fame is it is "new", therefor the current forum sweetheart, just as Castrol Edge was before it. Nothing special about either.......certainly no better or worse than the old standby Mobil 1.

Claims to fame are: what Johnny has told us what his contact said about it, the promising looking VOAs, the fact that it has been formulated to meet API SN which is not even in effect yet, that is will likely outperform PP which already was very good, etc. You've written it off already based on its inclusion of Group III?

I should add that I think in some metrics, it does NOT compare well to Redline. A certain one is volatility. Another possible one is resistance to forming deposits at extremely high temperatures but that be determined yet based on what little we know.

Couldn't agree more....

+1, PP took BITOG by storm!

Good grief......Ultra, platinum,German Castrol,EAO filters....the list goes on in how excited people get over brand new offerings thinking they are some miracle breakthroughs....then a few months down the road they are looking for the next new fix- kind of sick when you think about it, as none of these provided any real meaningful differences to the product before it

We probably would if it wasn't so costly!

I may have been worse

. When my kids were in competitive hockey and soccer I had the perfect opportunity to check out more Canadian Tires and Walmarts than you can shake a stick at. Even my young kids at the time knew the proper bottle code signifying the green

. I accumulated quite a stash of the true GC. Just this past March I felt good to use up 6 bottles of 5 year old green GC (sounds like I am describing fine wine) in our fuel diluting GM 3.6L DI engine. Surely GC can tame this beast

Anyone made contact with Pennzoil Canada for such info?

I called Pennzoil Canada. After looking and looking the rep couldn't see in writing any date re the PU introduction to Canada but FWIW he was sure it would be here sometime this summer

As for price why would we think that it would be any different than what we saw re the price of CEdge as it has come into Canada i.e over priced!

A friend of mine went to the US on a shopping trip last weekend and picked me up 2 jugs of Ultra! I'm hoping to pick it up from him this weekend (and that it doesn't rain so I can put it in the Corvette right away!)

If they price it too high up here, I'll just keep asking friends to pick it up for me when they go across the border. With our dollar at roughly par right now, it makes more sense to pick it up from the US anyhow, as I doubt Walmart Canada is going to sell it for only $28 for 5 quarts.

Yes, Pennzoil Ultra is $28(U.S.)for a five-quart jug at Wal Mart. So far the UOAs have been stellar. Low wear numbers and high TBN retention. It is building a reputation as an extended drain oil.
