Yeah I bet, sounds like a wood chipper could do something like that. Not sure how a grinder could do that though. Since it's kind of like a table saw on wheels that you move back and forth to cut into the stump. Looks kind of fun compared to using the chain saw on the tree.
I rented a chain saw and glad I read all the instructions first. Some good safety tips mentioned. I wasn't just going to wing it. Also used to cut down a pretty good size bush in the back as well. The tree in front I think was a maple. The wood was pretty lite weight but a very hard wood it seemed. Whew! Glad it's down.
