Trav, you say you can see the effects of using LGR in your vehicles. What difference do you observe?
Ouch. I wonder why my 2005 Silverado has the 4L65E? Do you know the differences?
Anyways, Trav has used his scan tool to show significant temp drops when LGR is added. We use it now based on his observations and agree.
Is your 2005 a 3/4 ton (or more)? I believe HD GM's got the 65. On your RPO sheet it will show M32 (the 60 is an M30). I have only ever owned 1/2 ton light trucks so I have only had the 60. As far as I can tell the differences are:
1) five-pinion rear planetary (the 60 only has 4 I believe)
2) hardened input shaft and sun shell
A lot of 60 guys upgrade to the above 65 parts. I don't tow much and never been over 7000# when I have so I have been fine with the regular 60.
