Toyota Engine Fan Fluid

I was cruising through Hemmings earlier and came across an unusual vehicle, a 1995 Lexus LS400 Toyota Celcior. The Celsior was the Japanese equivalent to the Lexus at the time. My interest is in learning what Fan Fluid is. Anyone know? Here's a pic ...

Fluid is likely for a viscous fan clutch.

Toyota’s answer to the MB S-class! That’s a time capsule, for sure. I would guess the fan fluid is a hydraulic fluid for the thermostatic fan clutch(?)

It also says "Use Dexron II Type ATF." I'm guessing the fan has a hydraulic drive like power steering. That could be quieter than an electric fan especially at low speed.

The Lincoln LS had a hydraulic fan clutch for its first few years, it took Mercon, now Mercon V.

I belive its the same fluid they use to lubricate muffler bearings.

The 3rd gen Camry had a hydraulic fan from 92-94, while the ES300 got it until 96. It's run off the power steering pump.

I saw that at O'Reilly's on the clearance shelf, right next to the blinker fluid.

Just kidding. It's for the clutch.
