Yea, I find that having good torque wrenches in my tool cabinet is a crutch of sorts. I find myself using them on things that I never did in the past simply because I can. And, why not?
We're not professionals trying to make a buck. Might as well enjoy using the tools that we invested in. I don't understand the bigoted responses here regarding the use of torque wrenches. People try to shame you here for something they do blind folded, one hand behind the back, while walking uphill both ways through the snow. Relax everyone!
mobilaltime, I think your responses reflect what you should do. Buy once, cry once. You will have more satisfaction using the better tools rather than always doubting your decision.
DO IT! ....I concur with Trav and Precision Instruments. I enjoy my 2 split beams every time I use them.
