Top 10 synthetic oils?

You guys are the experts. The question "which is the best oil" often floats up on this forum, so I decided to try and get a consensus of what the best oils out there are.

I know this thread has the potential to turn into a mess, so this is my attempt to add some structure: I'm going to divide the "winners" into two categories: the top 5, and the 6-10. I want to try and avoid voting and stick to the facts instead, as democracy has its flaws.

Try and discuss the oils by series. I know companies such as Castrol and Amsoil have different types of synthetic oil, so it would be unfair to just include them as one brand.

Also, try and keep things civil. I'm trying to make this thread helpful to people trying to decide which oil to use. I (or a mod) will edit this post as soon as people come to a consensus on which brands of oil should be listed. There can be ties, but it would be nice to avoid them--especially for first place. This discussion is going to take a while, so maybe it would be best to discuss first, second, third (etc) places one by one.

Some of you die-hard fanatics are going to have to compromise.

I'd suggest to stick this topic to the area. Because the same brand can have different quality in different area (if anyone was in the Middle East or Russia he'll understand what I'm talking about).
Let's call it "Top 10 synthetic oils in USA" shall we? (than I'm not participating because I'm not in USA)
 
Why not open it up to the worldwide market?If there was an oil that I REALLY wanted outside the U.S. ,I'd track it down globally...I'm just sayin'.....

Sure, globally. But if that oil is only available in one area, we should make a note of it.

I know that German Castrol is better than the stuff they sell in the U.S.

I dont really see the point of this post. Oil can be divided as the "best" in probably hundreds of categories. Not to sound harsh but I do hope this thread becomes a dud and dies out. What value does this thread bring, what good will come out of it, and what "facts" will come out? None.

Also depends on the viscosity grade. If talking about 0W-20s, you've got to put the Honda and Toyota oils near the top as well (or at least in the top 10 list at all).
 
According to UOA`s:

Pennzoil Platinum and Valvoline Synpower. Do they still make PP 15W50? I haven`t seen it in years.
 
Oh eneos fer sure dude! Its Japanese, everyone knows they make the best stuff! Why do you think all ricers drool over anything jdm? /sarcasm

My serious answer is that you will get a lot of opinions on this subject, but very little fact.
 
Mr. overkill to the rescue!

1.) Amsoil's good stuff (PAO)
2.) Royal Purple (PAO)
3.) Redline
4.) Mobil-1 EP/ M-1 20W-50 V-Twin
5.) Penzoil synthetics
6.) Valvoline synthetics
7.) Castrol synthetics
8.) Quaker State Synthetic
9.) Motul Grp V. (very costly...but a great oil)
 
I don't have a top 10 -- only a top 1.

1. Pennzoil Platinum.

Why? Because its cheap, it's reputable and it serves my need of 5000-7500 OCI.

Haven't decided what to use for my Tucson, which requires a 3750 OCI. Definitely not going to waste synthetic oil in a vehicle if I have to change it out so early.

I screwed up! I included Conventionals - Sorry! I should have read more closely.

The UK has availability to oils that are superior to those in the US at the present time
 
The Mobil fans will run amok in this post
I will just add my personal favorite Schaeffer's T-9000
