Run it 10,000km, regardless of the time.
It can go farther. If it will help you sleep at night then change it
I've ordered a UOA kit. I will wait until November to sample it so the oil will have approximately 8-9k kms on it by then.
Not sure how I will catch the oil though. Wait till drain slows down and put the little bottle under and catch oil. Suck through dip stick (don't have a suction pump though).

Wear gloves and catch some a few seconds after you start draining
Without access to an oil test to determine what's going on at the chemical level to determine if you truly need to change it, err on the side of caution and well... Get 'r dun.
Otherwise you're just guessing. An oil change too early is better than one being too late. Just my 2 cents
