My Yoko Avid Envigors have 53k miles on them and will need to be replaced soon.

My plan is to dispose of the vehicle after the next set of tires is worn out. I have a goal to hit 200k miles and am at 143k now, so I will be placing a bit of an emphasis on long tread wear for this purchase.

My preference is to purchase something from Costco, although my current tires were installed by the Subaru dealer as I was offered a competitive price on them during the 90k mile service.

I was thinking of the Yoko Avid Ascends if I do not go the Costco route. What Bridgestone/Michelin tires from Costco do you guys recommend? I had a set of Pilot Exaltos before the Yokos which lasted 50k miles.

In Summary, I am seeking good tread wear, a preference for Bridgestone/Michelin from Costco(but this is not absolutely critical).

Thanks for the input

Im liking my new Yokohama Avid Touring - S tires I just had put on. They ride quiet and smooth on my Accord. A little vibration if going at high speeds though (85+). But even that has started to smooth out. We have always used Yokos on our cars so I have nothing to compare too.

I'm a fan of Yokohamas as a good value tire and I've purchased the last 3 Avid models (V4S and Envigor for an Accord I previously owned and now Ascend's for my TSX).

I will say though that I've never made it to the treadlife warranty.

Before I purchased the Ascend's last year I considered the Michelin Primacy MXV4 and Goodyear Assurance ComforTread.

215/60R16?? I'd recommend the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus (75k) or a Michelin Primacy MXV4 (60k)

Ive done a good deal of driving on both tires and actually prefer the Serenity Plus over the MXV4. Plus you are getting a 75k warranty vs 60k.

The Defender is a great tire also, however you are going to drop a speed rating, as the Defender is a standard tire vs touring tire.

I don't know what kind of winter weather you get in NJ, but one thing about the Defender is that it uses full depth siping. So as the tire wears your winter traction is going to maintain better than the other tires that don't.

Anyway, by vote is for the Serenity Plus, and Bridgestone is on coupon for $70 up until Sep 1.

Good Luck!

I have had the Ascends on my Grand Caravan for about a year now and 9k miles- great tires and they are wearing like iron- only down 1/32nd since new and this is on harsh minivan duty... they are a bit pricy though...
