Thoughts about my oil filter options...

That's a pretty tight engine IMO.

I hope to one day get a Toyota Tacoma, Double Cab, TRD-Off Road, 4X4, in Magnetic Grey. Yeah, that detailed, can you tell I've looked into the Tacoma before. I almost made the commitment last year on a new one but I've never been apt to sticking my neck out very far, especially in times like these. So for now, I'll settle with the baby sister(Corolla).

Blast from the past.

I picked up (4) Toyota OEM Oil Filters today at "wholesale" price from another dealer for $4.32/filter. I also picked up a Toyota OEM Air Filter (Denso) also at "wholesale" for ~$12.50 compared to ~$19 quoted on phone.

On another note, I picked out the Fram compliment at WalMart recently, priced at ~$6.50, and was pleasantly suprised of its construction. Before the guns come out, this is in reference to a cartridge filter. The ends were "glued" very solid compared to the "open" end on the OEM. If the OEM filters weren't less expensive, I wouldn't mind running those Frams for my 5,000 mile OCI.
