Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

Head technician at dealership wants more consistent throttle and gdi cleaning, lower oci, etc. I'm just happy it happened on Sunday because I was in Westmoreland Kansas and they had a bad tornado 🌪 last night.

I thought BITOG rules did not allow positive comments on H/K' s. =)
The 2012 Kia 2.4 is a Gen1 DOHC, not a GDI / TGDI engine. I doubt you find any all stacked up as junk, behind the dealerships.
The 2012s were also in the era prior to HyunKia using soft metallurgy engine parts. The connecting rod bearings (#1 failure part) aren't the same either.

The problems mainly surfaced when Gen 2 engines were introduced. A few were made for 2012, but Gen 2 typically ran from 2013-2019..... again a small amount of leftover engines that were fit into 2020 models..

2014 Nissan Versa Note.... 169,000, Ran off the road once, road sign put gash in oil pan, ran engine with no oil for .25 miles at 240k, at 250k CVT cooler line leaked out most of the fluid, and ran low on fluid, slipping for 60 miles. ECU was giving me shift error codes, replaced hoses, flush and refilled 4 times and still going. At 165k sudden coolant loss, really low on coolant, engine overheated and now a valve rocker is clacking. Poured in some Barrs leak and no more coolant loss. 39mpg. typical belt squeal, and AC still works.

My daily driver.

237k miles on the clock.
had been running on Valvoline HM synthetic 5w-30 and a M1-206a from 60k to 230k, oil pump and timing chain was replaced at cam install at 200k. everything else is original inside the motor. at 230k it got PUP 5w-30 with HPL EC30 and now on HPL PCEO 5w-40. engine runs quiet and does not burn any oil.

I had a Chevy S-10 with the 4.3L power plant and when I sold it she has 201,000 original miles and ran great

I see the guy I sold it to around town sometimes and she's still going strong!

I ran Amsoil 5w30 from when I bought it at 75k till I sold it at 201,000
