Inspired by the earlier Batman post jml4life I remembered about what I believe was the original Batman. Growing up in the late 60's and early 70's I thought the Adam West Batman was the original. I stumbled across this on TCM one night! Check out their Batmobile!!! Not Sure what kind of car that is.

I always loved when Batman and Robin would walk up the side of a building with the rope in step. So hokey but you didn't care.
A story appeared in one of the major car magazines featuring EVERY depiction of any car Batman drove.
The author went back to "Day 1" where the vehicles were just vague background sketches.
It was quite nifty and, I assume, complete.
In post 1: A stealthy operator like Batman had a car with wide whitewall tires?
Parking garage attendant say..."Bruce Wayne has a car just like this."

I think that you're right. It looks like a '49 Mercury 8.
Best one was Colonel Klink sticking his head out of the window asking if they had seen Hogan.
At 1st I thought it was a Hudson Hornet, but they were made between 1951-1954.
Doug is a great guy...saw the video those who criticize him need to have their heads examined as we used to say
