The Hypocrisy of Youth

My comment won't be popular, but the news outlet is only showing a magnified event. What is the news outlet trying to say about the larger event? Is there a problem with protesting against what has been going on there? I call it free speech, and if some are doing wrong in the protesting group, that's a separate issue involving them only. Calling out a whole generation for some screen shots of a dozen people is not right.

Wait, how dare you accuse Faux News of only focusing on part of the story! Its almost as if you're claiming that they have an agenda! Absurd! Ludicrous! They're "Fair and Balanced" - no way they could ever misrepresent a story!

"Do you have anything of substance to add?"
Who are you talking to? I hate Jeb. Jeb would do better on stage with Hills.

Even people on MSNBC see this is nonsense.

So the "rule of law" is supposed to be how we manage ourselves. Sadly, that is a fading concept with each generation.

What sense of complete and utter dichotomy does one possess to think they should be able to record a police officer in his/her duties, but then completely shut out others recording them?

But that same sense of recording public officials also extends to recording people in public. It is the equal application of the law; the 1st Amendment is well-defined by SCOTUS in this manner.

I just marvel at that seemingly boundless ignorance and arrogance of youth.

Indeed the sense of irony is lost upon them. Their behavior is what happens in the beginning of an emotional mass-movement, gathering steam. This is a pure knee-jerk reaction. It has nothing to do with thinking or intellect, whatever there might be: It's been hijacked by unchecked emotions and fueled by the current regime.

I do agree with you re: Constitution. We're to be ruled by law, not by man. However, we also must remember:

"When mores are sufficient, laws are unnecessary. When mores are insufficient, laws are unenforceable." -- Durkheim.

We're currently experiencing the effects of the later....

Political correctness is a mental disorder; they will turn on each other over every perceived character flaw, skin color, socioeconomic background, gender, sexuality in their attempt at the ever so elusive human utopia. It's a never ending hunt until every man woman and child is hunted down and thrown to the PC wolves. The Bolsheviks tried it, the Chinese Communists tried it, and it leads to catastrophe - and yet it's more alive and well in the US post secondary education system and even in corporate America more than at anytime probably in the last half decade. Social Lefties (not classic liberals) never learn because it's an ideology fundamentally based on lies.

Very, very correct.

I can't even imagine how these little lefty turds will handle conflict in the workplace; are they gonna scream and yell at the top of their lungs like a mental patient everytime they don't get their way???

They do at my work already. HR bends over backwards to please our employees while the managers cower in fear.

How were these kids raised??

Absolutely.
Positively.
Unbelievable.

You guys are funny, getting all bent out of shape over something happening on a college campus.

There's an awful lot of political talk in this thread, considering the no r/s/p rule.

Are you crazy?
Do you know what a great gig being a tenured professor at a major university is?
I've worked in the private sector for 30 years and would love to have the security that a professor in my field would have with that much experience.
You're delusional. If you want to spend your professional life trying to make tenure in the PC world of college teaching, the "security" is apparently worth a lot to you. Seems to me you belong there bobbing and nodding every time a new PC pronouncement is issued. Most of the sharper professors I know run side businesses and devote a lot of time to them, because unless you're Granny Warren, the phony indian, you get don't 350K teaching ONE course. You're apparently under the impression that they ALL sit with their feet on the desk smoking pipes while grad assistants do the work. Those that CAN, do, those that can't......you know the rest.

Ironically, you just proved my point...professors can and do run side businesses that can take tremendous amounts of time and still be secure in their academic positions. If a business fails, they still have their secure teaching position. If a business takes off, they have the option to devote themselves to it full time or stay on at the university with an honorific title and few responsibilities because their name now brings extra glamour.
In my industry, you start being very suspect as you approach 50 and very few are kept around past 60 unless they are senior management. I have zero debt and plentiful savings and will be OK no matter what, but it's still an ugly feeling to be in a situation like that.

That little girl should lose her huge scholarship for sure. She is [censored] lucky to be at a place like Yale and has no idea...

Yeah except a mod started the thread. They should resend the silly rules if they dont follow them.

You mean the way all of the other news media outlets do on the other side? Oh that's right, they don't do that, they just lie...

As it should be. The left is destroying this country, and if you don't see that, then you need to pull your head out of the sand...
