Do you know what a great gig being a tenured professor at a major university is?
I've worked in the private sector for 30 years and would love to have the security that a professor in my field would have with that much experience.

What I'm confused about - why is this thread not about the hypocrisy of humans or college campuses or professors but is instead about youths? The initial article refers to the university administrators participation in the first 30 words.

You're delusional. If you want to spend your professional life trying to make tenure in the PC world of college teaching, the "security" is apparently worth a lot to you. Seems to me you belong there bobbing and nodding every time a new PC pronouncement is issued. Most of the sharper professors I know run side businesses and devote a lot of time to them, because unless you're Granny Warren, the phony indian, you get don't 350K teaching ONE course. You're apparently under the impression that they ALL sit with their feet on the desk smoking pipes while grad assistants do the work. Those that CAN, do, those that can't......you know the rest.

We've done this to ourselves. We've created these collegiate activists. Our culture has spawned it, even encouraged this sort of thing.
I've voted the way I think I should, hoping for candidates that say they believe in the same things I do, to help stop the tide from rising. It's not worked. The general media is far more powerful. And with the HUGE influence of Hollywood through movies, TV, and the idolizing of actors (and the things they say)...trying to get us back on track is really quite impossible.
I pretty much do my best to turn off news that gets my blood boiling. Stories that show we've become cannibals of our once great nation, cause me so much disgust that I feel I have nothing else to do but try and look the other way...ignore it as best I can.

Defeatist attitude? Probably.

Ted Cruz has quite the resume. Doesn't mean his views aren't wacky as all getout when it comes to politics, though.

I'm not thrilled with any choices on either side. And I do think the best is always in the middle - moderation is key. Not too far to either side, but that's hard to get with our two-party system.

Reminds me of the Duke Lacrosse case over 10 years ago. Before any investigation a significant number of Duke professors and staff signed and printed a letter in the local paper. Basically a lynch mob. After the truth came out the Professors and staff crawled back under their rocks.
