It's a I4(Yamaha R1) and have 1 coil and wire to each spark plug.

I am leaning towards either of these:

Does anyone know how much is difference in terms of life/mileage for standard vs Iridium plugs?

I knew which make and model of bike you were asking about, when I made my recommendation.

As for their expected lifespan, that depends on several factors, mostly related to how you use the bike. The Iridium plugs will perform a bit better, and last longer.

This is a normal plug, then the projected nose plug came out and is now considered the standard type. Projected nose can cause pre ignition, which is why they are not used in racing...also in 2 valve heads with large valves and high lift cams there can be some interference.

I use the oem spec plugs. Only 1 change. Mine has about 9,000 miles. Yamaha Racing Blue with the Gray engine and frame. Very smooth.

I would go one step hotter and standard plug or as another in here posted replace plug with the same, check it after you get some miles on it, once checked if its dark like it currently is, go one step hotter.

No need for expensive plugs for a properly running engine.
