Not inferior, but less popular then rotella or delvac who run the show. But as stated, if anyone actually cares about the formula anymore which seams to be rare in this fake oil news era, you would see that some of the less popular oils actually make a better oil. Follow the stat sheet not the name is what I say. I think they used to do that here a long long long time ago.

I wasn't planning on doing the career change, which includes paying for a second degree.
Some BS happened at work; and I decided enough is enough of the corporate world.. I'm gonna do the job I always wanted to, plus summers off are nice.

The good thing about the Civic Si.. it keeps its value so ridiculously good, that I can ditch it anytime I want, and I paid 18% under MSRP which is almost unheard of in a Honda. So this puts me in a position where I can get rid of it and break even.

But if UOAs are the same.. why would I spend the extra money?

The STI will be my daily driver until I can find an old 2002/03 Wrx hatch in auction to restore like oem condition.

I am a big fan of what reldine products can do in certain applications, and their stuff for transmisions and gears and incredible. But I couldn't agree more in this situation, but look at valve blue and delo, make an informed decision. Rotella has a great name, but did they drop the ball in the latest t6 formula? More then one person thinks so.

I do like Delo!

Used it in my sister's old Legacy and that thing has 260k with zero issues, never skipped a day.

Delo is always stupid low price costco, through the 29th ten bucks off already low price, but every other month ten bucks off. I think only 15w40 though.

Fair enough...then I'd say get out from under those payments. Every month you don't have payments, it's money to use to use for other stuff like paying down any debt you may have.

What about something like M1 HM 10w40?

Given your location, you will be okay with 10w-XX and 15w-XX multigrades. Unless you find and use a 30 weight multigrade oil (of 10w or 15w variety), it's unlikely that you will shear down into a 30 weight with these.
The M1 High Mileage is a robust full synthetic blend. I would say it would work well for ~250 hours or 8k mi, whichever comes first. Others may say longer.

You can run it with no issues, or M1 FS X2 5w-50. Porsche A40-approved with an HTHS of 4,4. Everything a growing boy needs.

we all know you walk around chopping people down at every chance, but let's be clear, do you have anything besides a personal attack to add to this oil conversation you being the true oil guy that you are? No, I didn't think so.

There's a VOA in the VOA forum comparing the old RT6 5W-40 vs the new and there's not much difference in additive levels. As some others have said, just go with a 10W-40. M1 HM or Castrol Edge HM are both very good 10W-40's.

I've seen the old RT6 shear to a 30 grade in turbo Subaru applications so it's not shear proof, and the new one probably isn't either.
