So far I have 6,200 miles and 6 months on this fill of Pennzoil Platinum, with a PureOne filter, in the Civic. I have a 400 miles round trip coming up. Part of me wants to change it and part of me wants to push it to 7,000 miles. What do you think? should I change it? There's been no make it oil (yet) since it's about 1/4 qt. low I might add just add to top it off.

Belt driven Civic motor? 7k with ANY oil is a easy OCI as long as it has not seen short trips or has any issues.

I do 7-8k with a timing chain motor known for nailing the oil.

I have 4825 miles on my oil right now, semi-synthetic mix, with a change at 6500 to 7000 miles in mind. I will soon do a Sierra/Yosemite/Owens Valley/Modesto trip. I will change the oil after I get back, especially as I might run into a lot of dust this time of year, and I always change oil after a dust storm type situation. So it is more economical. When I get back, it should be right at about 6750 miles.

When I had my 2001 Civic I ran 10k runs of that exact oil. I now do the same in my chain-driven CR-V. I did one UOA on the CR-V a couple years ago and they said it was just fine.
