Short trip recommendations.

96 Vette 55k miles Mobil1 10w30. I do a short trip almost daily with this vehicle about 3 miles (coolant gets to 200f oil to 135f) Shut down for about an hour & reverse trip (coolant now comes to 220, oil to about 150 - 170)

When it's not a short trip I'll drive about 25 miles to an autox track, race, (water 220f oil maybe 230 to 240f)

So given these extremes of use on both ends of the spectrem I change oil & filter every 3000.

Anything else to mitigate damage/wear?

Do a search by my username and look at some of the analyses that Ive done on my mother's 97 plymouth breeze. It gets about as bad a type of 'short trip' as could ever exist. Using M1 5w30 in that engine makes wear rates very acceptable.

Her car gets used similarly to yours, short trips on the weeks, once every number of weeks a long trip, in her case a few hundred miles.

We have been able to extend the OCI given this profile, out to 5000 miles.
