Yes, hardly a rocket ship. A Focus ST is only a few ticks slower.

Precision Turbo makes some retooled turbos for the 3.5s.... $1k each but claim to add around 100whp. You get some injectors and a good tune, crank some boost on it and the 500fwhp range isn't out of the question.

Whether or not the rest of the driveline puts up to it is the question

You must have a different definition of run for money.

Edmunds' 2010 Civic SI test

Acceleration
0-30 (sec): 2.9 (3.0 w/tc on)
0-45 (sec): 5.0 (5.2 w/tc on)
0-60 (sec): 7.4 (7.9 w/tc on)
0-75 (sec): 10.4 (10.9 w/tc on)
1/4-Mile (sec @ mph): 15.4 @ 92.6 (15.7 @ 91.2 w/tc on)

1.6 secs slower to 60
1.2 secs and 6.5 mph slower in the quarter mile.

It's not super fast but fast enough and still faster than most vehicles on the road.

That is by far the worst results I have seen for the car. Most tests show it as mid 6 0-60 (6.5 or 6.6), and high 14's 1/4 mile.

I dono - maybe Edmunds doesn't know how to drive stick?

That is a very real possibility.

Maybe their SHO time is underrated as well.

Local PD has had a lot of oil consumption issues with their Ford Interceptor EB's. Most of the cars developed the problems before they hit 30k miles, a couple others had the problem by 60k. Lots of down time and a couple of the cars were auctioned off with less than 80k miles. They are no longer purchasing the EB version.

By contrast, the department I work for purchased 5.7L Chargers (both RWD and AWD) and they have proven to be more reliable thus far.

Given the size and weight of the SHO i would rather spend a few more lbs and go for the explorer sport or limited with the 3.5

Guy is looking at SHO 4 door sedan and people are recommending trucks and SUVs?

Same with the slow comments as well as a Civic giving it a run for the money. Some of you guys are smoking better stuff then I have..Focus

By today's standards, a mid-14 second quarter mile IS slow for anything purporting to be a sports sedan; my stock 1988 M6 clicked off a 14.6 quarter, while my stock 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 did it in 13.9. Good numbers for their day, but hardly balls of fire in 2018
If it makes you feel any better, my 2er struggles to run the quarter in under 13 seconds; I consider that to be average at best...
