As with most things you get what you pay for. I rather work smarter, not harder. Cheap paint doesn't cover well, and doesn't last as long. Having said that you don't have to pay $80 a gallon for B. Moore Aura paint either. If you decide to go with B. Moore use their Select series paint. I'm not a fan of Sherwin Williams paints. Some of the Behr Paints are actually pretty good, their Marquee paints are good. Many of the better paints claim to be self priming, to a degree they are, but they will not hold back water stains, or nicotine staining, for that type of situation you need a dedicated primer.
