I was talking with my son the other night and he owns a 2014 Ram with the Eco diesel which has a remote start. He has been searching some of the forums to see how to get the remote start to work from a longer distance away and apparently there has been some discussion and some videos in regards to this. What you do is place the FOB under your chin and hit the button and he said the truck will now start from a longer distance away. He discussed this with a co-worker who owns a F-150. He has to be right next to it to get the remote to work which means why even have it when you are right next to it. His co-worker laughed but tried it and it worked for him, so now when he starts his truck with the remote he's not right next to it. I have a keyless entry on my 04 explorer and the original FOB's died a long time ago so I now have a couple of cheap China knock offs which have worked well but the battery or the FOB is now dying. I tried pushing the button while holding it under my chin and instead of being right next to it and maybe working or not I can be about 20 feet away and it works. Hopefully this has not been posted before, could not find anything when I did a search and I hope this is in the right forum.
