even tho im more educated now i still have not tryed QS. i look at the qsud every time im in WAL-MART but i never buy. its cheap too. 19 for a jug and 12 for QS.
tell me its stupid not to buy it over rumors.
any good stories from qs users? maybe some with internal visual conformation to put the sludge story to bed for me please

I would try it without hesitation. Just remember this: its made by or owned by pennzoil(which I plan to use starting this weekend) so its good oil. I have 5 work friends that are mechanics like myself that have used it for like 25 yrs+ without problems at all.

use with confidence,

Adam Vasbinder

p.s. Disregard all the b.s., hatrid, and backward opinions here on BITOG about pennzoil, Quaker State and Shell oils being bad, causing sludge and blah blah blah. I would use it if it stayed on the shelves at wal mart long enough.

I have used green bottle in my Ranger and red HM in my exploder
for several years and am very happy with both. I used to use PYB
until they dropped the moly in the new formula. I think formula
shell is also a good value. Just an old man's opinion.

I have run QS GB and QSUD both several times. UD is in right now and at 3500 miles it is a nice honey color on the stick, and no oil use at all. I still have a fill of UD and a fill of GB all bought cheap. The engine is nice and quiet and returns normal MPG's. Even a really good 5K GB UOA. Whats not to love.

Have used green bottle and full syn both without a problem.
I think the green bottle makes the engines run nice and quiet.
Although I've always picked up on conventionals sounding quieter than syns.

I use QS Advanced Durability green bottle. I have had absolutely no problems with it at all. It's a great oil, has a very good add pack and my truck runs very smooth and quiet on it. I have enough QS quarts to last me until some time in 2012, all bought for about $2.17 per quart.

QS and especially QSUD are great oils, I really believe QSUD is the best major SYN for the price. I have used it and it has run great in all of the vehicles I have. I just always want to try new oils so that is why I don't have it in right now. you have to at least try it.

QSUD 5qt. jug for $19.00 is probably the best deal at WM at the moment. (Mobil Clean 5000 for $11.50 is awesome too).

A co-worker put over 300K on an 88' or 89' Corolla using QS green bottle, so it's definitely a good oil. Of course that was before Pennzoil took over QS and then Shell took over Pennzoil.

QSGB is my 2nd choice if Wally is out of my grade in PYB,it's the current fill in the Trailblazer and is performing great.I would recommend it with no problem.Never used QSUD but i'm sure it's good oil also.

My dad has used QS GB for years with no issues...I have run it as well.

Running UD in my Cav right now....good stuff!

Quaker State makes pretty good oils. I used them and loved them when they made a 20W50 weight. They dont have that thick of oils now. The only one I had issues with was the old Pennzoil formula in 20W50 where it would burn off like water very easily. This was way back in the day, not the formula they have now.

My best was 1,000,000 km on a 1981 Chevrolet Impala, using solely QS GB 10w-30 and Wix filters, with a 10,000 km OCI. The cam was replaced once, since Chev small blocks were always hard on them, but that was it. It was driven to the junk yard; the body was not doing well anymore.

Milkman, Go to Kmart dot com.....click on deals, then circulars link....this will bring you to the current circulars.

You want to click on the "Store-wide Savings Circular". Go to page #9 of this circular.

Click on the Quaker State Oil advertisement on the right side of the page. The item will pull up and then "add it to your shopping list". Go to the shopping list link in left margin and click on the list. It should appear in your list for $1.75. Print out the page and bring it to the store. Cheers and Good Luck

i have no problem putting any QS, pennzoil or shell product in engine, same goes for mobil...no bad oil, just bad owners
