PureOne beats Amsoil EA filter

99.8% @ 20 microns
98.7% @ 15 microns
Good downto 7 micron (nominal)

Purolator PureONE (from email sent from their engineering dept):
99.9% @ 20 micron
99.2% @ 15 micron
92.8% @ 10 micron
Good downto 5 micron (nominal)
 
Really, those are so close I don't think I could declare one is a winner over the other. Both are fine filters. As long as you use one of the two, you have a happy engine and it will last a long time with good care.

As are flow rates. Given the difference in media construction, I'd think that the Amsoil filter flows much better.
 
Both are overkill, which is why I like them. Took off my P1 and installed the Ea this weekend. Nothing exceeds like excess!

I am sure Amsoil and other steel mesh covered filters barely slow down the oil as it passes through the media, the PureOne just trickles through compaired to mesh filter media. Now, I would like to see an ISO rating on flow rating or better yet a bench test like the day's of ole!
 
According to this information, we really should be looking for the beta from ISO 16889. Rather than particle size efficiency. The dates on this info are old.
