I had the same dilemma with a 2017 Acura and decided to change the oil at the one year from production date, which was about 3,000 miles in my case. During the 9 months your HRV sat on the lot it has likely been moved around, taken on test drives, etc., none of which would really warm up the engine oil.
Plus, Honda really doesn't seem to emphasize leaving in the factory fill for a full OCI these days, so I figured it couldn't be that important. Of you want to hedge your bets, there is still high-Molybdenum Idemitsu Zepro 0w-20 available on Amazon: as molybdenum in the ff seems to be the reason Honda wants drivers to wait, this may be a good choice for the first change.
