Powerstroke - glow plugs - no start

I stopped at the Ford dealer today and talked to the diesel mechanic and he said the glow plug light should definitely be coming on.
It's a little warmer today and I plugged in the truck for a few hours today and it started.
I do not think it's fuel related.
