The tracked average via Fuelly has increased to 24.7 lifetime.

The first four years of ownership, living in the city and doing a lot of short city driving, really took a toll on this. Since moving in the spring, I've been doing a lot more highway miles.

I had the best tank in a long time on my 2003 Civic EX. It is almost exclusively a short-tripped car now and averages a consistent 30 mpg in that mode. However, this past weekend it took two trips to the big city for a total of 200 highway miles and averaged 38.2 mpg. That's about what it averaged on highway trips back in the day when it was used that way. So I'm glad it's still "got it."

Fill up at Murphy's. Almost all hiway
