I don’t like the term “everything is negotiable.”
That’s usually code for “I’m about to try to screw someone over
I called a while back to troubleshoot my internet issues and the woman on the other end had to keep stopping because her kid was screaming in the background. This work from home stuff is getting out of hand. Two of them. Both of them involve cell phones! Ugh. Ok, so you walk up to check out at the store and the cashier is talking to you and you can not comprehend "what on earth?" Only to realize that instead of greeting you or asking can they help you, they are too busy on their personal phone calls and not paying much attention to the job. Talking thru the ear muffs so you at first think they are talking to you! NOT.
The next Phone one. As of the last few years, all sorts of businesses and Doctors offices, etc... who we use have their employees calling to make business appointments or reminders etc on their personal cell phones. So when one gets these phone calls a lot of them can go unanswered because lots of folks (me too) will not answer when the caller ID can not ID the number owner. So, how many calls are being missed and things complicated by all the miscommunication from people not knowing it is someone calling they need to speak to?
