Parking lot ding

Some piece of [censored] put a small dent in the rear quarter panel right above the wheel while I was inside the grocery store. What would the repair entail? Full blown bodyshop or pdr? I would LOVE to catch someone doing this so I could make them experience the most excruciating physical pain beyond their wildest dreams.

Yikes! That's a bad one!

It's right on a body line, so PDR might not turn out that great. My vote is for a body shop.

Man that sucks! I've had several cars damaged by parking lot hit & runners. So many scum bags out there that don't respect other people's property.

I took a car into a body shop guy who rented over night space to a PDR. Both gave me estimates so I had a price locked in if the PDR worked (it did) or didn't. That saved me from getting into a battle over whether the PDR was satisfactory.

It will be hard to match that orange peel. Not necessarily impossible, but I bet you'll notice it if you look for it after the repair.

Sure it is ... that's why it shows up as [censored].

Doubt a PDR guy could do that one, but have a couple PDR guys look at it to give their take.

If I caught someone doing that much damage, I'd be calling the cops to get a report made and the hole or his insurance would be paying for the repair.

What car are we talking about? Id try PDR first. If an older car, id try to learn to fix it myself. I have fixed rusted out parts of my rocker panels, sanded, painted and impressed with the results. The fact the dent is on the curved part will be your biggest challenge to get back to normal.

Looks bad. Wonder what the car was hit with?
I'd talk to a couple of PDR guys and see what they can offer.
Ideally, no pay or minimal charge for bad results.
