Oil consumption! What recommendations to fight it!

I had a big stash of PYB sm but it continued to cause my biggest consumption. The QS has been my best run in a while. I thought it might have been the sn rated oil.

What do you mean no hope? There is zero consumption for 3,000 miles and then it slowly comes back (0.3 qt per 1000 miles only). The way I do piston soaks every OCI takes some serious time. I may need to simplify the process.

First, use a high mileage oil. Contains seal swellers which may help.

Problem may not be seals however, rings for example...
Full synthetic may help wash the crud out...

Hence, use a high mileage full synthetic, look at the M1 oils...

Also a good filter, Purolator PureOne, to catch the crud...

+1.
Since the HM is not really helping, the next step would be go higher viscosity that suits your temperature. For me, I find PU is not the best for burning oil car, since the boron may cause more problem with pinging.

You keep recommending this stuff even after the oil filter pics showed the filter to be in rough shape and very likely in a by-pass state.
Op. don't use restore in any engine you want to keep. The particle size of the soft metals are immediately filtered out then what's left gets pumped though the engine while the filter is in by-pass. Its absolute garbage.
Mos2 has shown consumption improvements in many of our members engines and it costs less than restore.
Hey Meeks.
Have you seen the size of the chunks that restore creates as it agglomerates. I have.its shameful knowing what that stuff does, and you still recommend it. Either you are choosing to ignore the evidence,r just don't care. Either way its shameful.

Op. go to napa. Buy a can of mos2 and a can of motor oil saver. Since you are running ultra run it out 10000 miles.
You'll see these products work. And unlike meeks suggestion no harm will come to your engine.
If your engine was due for replacement I'd say go ahead with restore however it seems to me you are trying to extend its life, and restore wont help there. The negatives vs positives just don't add up in your favor with restore.
And meeks, look into the evidence,or keep ignoring it,but its not going to go away. And every time I see a suggestion for restore from you,I won't be going away. I will post right behind you every time you recommend that garbage.
