OE manufacturer of 2007 Lexus struts

For now I succumbed to the siren call of low cost parts. It was hard to pass up a $500 savings over OE. Ended up buying kyb, BUT.... The main reason why I did was for the fronts in their description it was stated that they are specifically valved for the Lexus RX cars.. I'm hoping I don't grt burnt.

personally I've not found better prices/service than McGeorge Toyota parts. https://parts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/

But sometimes you can take that price, go to your local dealer and see if they'll match prices.. It's not like they're not desperate for business lately.. hardly any cars on the new car lot..

ahh you bought the kyb.. it probably will be a stiffer ride than what you had on there. I've seen that with the scion tC, lots of owners went with the kyb, it was ok, but not the same as the original ride which is smooth and stiffens up for handling. Yes the Toyota parts are a little more $$ but I thought since the originals lasted 13 years it was worth it to me to get the same again..

let us know how it goes when you get the kyb's.. the ones I got for my "Project Civic" were already leaking in the box! Maybe I'm just unlucky, but after 2 sets like that, I gave up.

Very interested to see how this goes. Please keep us in the loop!

Going to be putting struts on the better half's "new" RX350. Would like to go oem but if that doesn't meet my budget, may go aftermarket.
Ideally at a minimum, I'd like to stay with the OE supplier

Shopping around I found the usual suspects from Monroe and KYB, but am not really interested in those unless I have to be... Also found some from Sachs too. Are they an oe supplier to Lexus/Toyota?
Did you go with quick struts, or just the strut with original mount and spring? I was shocked how pillowy the kyb mounts in the quick strut for my Focus was... They sucked up stuff like a 1" step up where a pavement cut is, like its nothing. The OE mounts and struts would bang on stuff like that something fierce.

One month ago, I replaced all four corners on my daughter's '08 RX350 with KYB struts from RA.

Originals had 187k on them.

Quick struts assemblies were not available when I was shopping them.

Personally, I wouldn't use any shock/strut except OE on a LEXUS. If he RX is a keeper, you may not be happy with the aftermarket units. I've talked to waaaay toooo many members over at CLUBLEXUS that were very unhappy with aftermarket shocks/struts on their LEXUS.

Look into SENSEN shocks & struts. If nothing available, KYB any day over Monroe.

Any feedback on them?

Now you've got me doubting my purchase 😂

I may take a look at the budget and just go with OE..

Even though she's pretty low maintenance, I've always worked hard to try keep her happy and provide nice things for her

Way to go CharBaby... Guilt me into returning the KYB's and going OEM 🤣

I guess I had really always wanted OE, but was unsure of how much I'd have to spend on them.. But you know what they say - can't put a price tag on happiness. Hopefully it turns out well!

If I can remember, I'll start a new thread and post pics of the engine swap (JDM) and misc maintenance before the RX hits the road with my wife behind the wheel.

Big fan of Monroe, probably sold 1000 of them and very few defects. they will ride softer than KYB but not so much as you will notice.
