It is a 1 cylinder B&S though, I think Nick established that they can run quite a while with a 10% sand mixture in the oil. If nothing happens in the first hour, nothing ever will.
I seized a couple engines when I was younger and they came unseized and kept on going for years after.
 
Well taken care of. took it to a local welding shop who did it for $40. They had to do it this way otherwise it would leak. And they only charged me $30 for it too. It's really not as noticeable as it looks. I doubt even a tech would notice and I could always say it came like that when I got it lol.

Good to see your engine is up and running once again. Also the price is in line with what I would have charged. Now you also have peace of mind that this is welded vs JB Weld.
