New Lincoln MKZ, what do you think about it?

Ford is WASTING hundreds of millions on a lost cause.

Lincoln should have been killed a decade ago!

MKZ is a joke.

On August 29, 2011, the final Town Car rolled off the assembly line and Lincoln unofficially died.

Yes Ford made a big mistake in my opinion killing the big RWD cars. Very dependable, drive great and incredible value for the money.

Modern cars are really good. I can't fathom spending more money on a luxury car that is available as a "base" car. It doesn't make sense to me.

It's the whole "needs" vs "wants" subject. Nobody really needs a luxury vehicle, but some people want them.

It's not a needs and wants issue for me. I just don't understand buying a fancier version of something. Cars like the Caddy ATS or Lexus IS aren't available as a Chevy or Toyota. I get buying them. The MKZ and Caddy Escalade are available as less expensive options. It's not my money, so they can spend how they want.

The Yukon Denali shares the same driveline as the Escalade. Same 403hp 6.2L V8. So, if you can do without the nicer interior of the Cadillac, you can save 15-20k on average going with the Denali. The Tahoe and regular Yukon, however, are only available with the 5.3V8 but you can still get most of the features and save big bucks as well. I see them everyday at my plant where we build them, and if I were to be buying a luxury SUV...I would get the Denali. I love the Escalade and they do drive a little better and are more luxurious...but not enough more to get more money out of me over the Denali. Heck, even a nice LTZ Tahoe or Yukon SLT are very nicely equipped. The Denali is the luxury SUV bargain as far as features and power of the 6.2L

15-20k savings going with the Denali over the Escalade...WOW that's enough(or almost enough) to buy a cruze for a work car with the difference

Agree. Plus could you imagine actually using an MKZ or Escalade as a genuine SUV and taking it offroading? It'd either fall apart or get stuck.

Don't know about the Lincoln, but the Cadillac has a strong frame and suspension to handle off road. The only limitation is it's AWD system does not have a low range and the street tires. It would not fall apart and not get stuck in most situations. I am referring to casual off roading...not severe rock crawling of course!
