Got my third set of blueprinted injectors from Trav, this time for the Envoy. The DHL man delivered them the other day and I got around to installing them yesterday.

Tested at 25.6 lb/hr, they were so well matched I indexed the plugs:

20 micron stainless steel basket filters to replace the cheap plastic filters that came with the injectors:

59,000 miles on these factory units after running 2 bottles of Techron through the tank. No wonder it only took off after 3,000 rpm. Sure gas is cheap, but it's garbage. Looks like not even Techron can clean up the mess left behind by our gas!

Had to pull the battery, horn, alternator, PCM and intake manifold to access the injectors:

The truck idled and drove smooth as glass after these were in, and I took it on a 100 mile drive! Previously it would have to hit 3,000 rpm to accelerate properly, now it's strong acceleration throughout the rpm range. Amazing!

Now to pull fuel lines off a 2004 with the inline fuel filter and install them with a new pump and sending unit for cheap insurance.

Wow, those old ones must've been quite gummed up to affect drivability that badly. Any codes from it?
The new ones are really well matched. I wonder what the variance is on random new ones straight from Bosch.

Didn't pull any codes, but then again I didn't check on the Tech II for any misfires or anything either. But with the engine cold, you would feel vibration if you put it in gear. Now that's gone with the new injectors.

I think the variances are up to 5% on random ones, Trav will know.

I like the idea that he tests them before shipping them, and makes sure they're up to par. Beats the heck out of installing them, then finding out you have a bad one, and it happens. Thanks for posting.

Nice! now trav just needs to get into the diesel injector biz

:P I have old tractor injectors that could probably use his service

Nice. Maybe if you ran Techron on these new injectors at least every 3k miles they'll stay passably clean? Maybe a 1/3 a bottle every other tank full would be even better but that would be pretty inconvenient.

They sure don't make it easy do they?

My Lord, those old injectors look AWFUL!!!! I've seen injectors out of a Crown Vic with 400,000 on them that were several orders of magnitude cleaner than those
