Wondering if Neutra 131 will affect my SMOG test.

I may not have time to run a tank with it, so I might just add some tommorow and drive 50miles or so, will this be more prone to failing smog.

I know that neutra is suppose to help clean up, but am I suppose to wait till it is out of the system before I smog or can I leave it in, run around on the freeway for 20min or so and go straight to the smog station?

Any ideas?

This would be a great question for Bob. I hope he is feeling better. I would just put in the recommended amount of Neutra 131 and drive it. I doubt that it will have a negative affect on your smog check. Here in Las Vegas in order to fail the smog check with a newer (OBD-II) car your engine needs to be giving a trouble code or smoke like a freight train. Even with the test that is given for older cars will require a very poor showing to fail the test. I believe it is the same with the "treadmill" type tests that some states use.

Yea, I hope Bob will be doing better.

WEll just got it smogged today and FAILED.

Failed on one test at 15mph NO was too HIGH at 1222ppm MAX limit was 1115ppm.

The tech noticed that the timing was advanced from 10 to 21, this car just passed SMOG on 8/19/03 I missed the 90day window so I had to do it again, looks like the previous owner brought it to someone that jimmied it up.

Man sucks for me

Wait, are you saying that it's a car that you just bought, and you're getting it smogged so that you can do the title transfer, etc.? If so, under CA law, it is the seller's responsibility to get it smogged.

This would be a great time to service your car. Put new spark plugs in and maybe spark plug wires as well. Also an air filter and if you think you might keep the car for a long time also flush the radiator and change the transmission fluid. The last car I had a smog check done to was an old POS 1994 Geo Prizm with about 150,000 miles and it passed with flying colors. The car produced way below the maximum levels of pollution permited in the test.

I didnt miss the 90day window by chance, I bought the car like 4 days after the window was over.

It passed the previous smog before the enhanced SMOG test for October, so I went to SMOG it and it failed the NO test which was added. It passed everything else...

Failed NOx at 15mph, but passed at 25mph.

Just tell them you promise not to drive at 15mph

Hahaha...yeah that will work...well usually the only time I go 15mph is around parking lots.

Well I'm at Half tank, so I will fill up with Premium/Octane Boosters, Changed the air filter, saw that it was pretty dirty, cleaned the EGR modulator...couldnt take the EGR piper off the EGR valve...so couldnt clean it. But I did buy new vacuum hoses and tied them down.

Going to replace the 3 out of 6 spark plugs and clean the rotor and cap. Why 3 you ask..well in this engine the last 3 are kinda hard to get to, gotta take the some parts off before I can reach them...way back in the engine..

Already added a bottle of the "Guarenteed to Pass smog" stuff...we'll see..I'll post the numbers after I run it next week.
