When MB wants to build something really high end they build things like the Maybach, its a high bar to jump.
I would look at the Cadillac XTS before Japanese.

Lexus is hands down the winner if you want reliability, build quality and insane interiors.
Statistics tells us nothing else is close.

The sleeper is the Acura TLX, it will do all you’re asking about cabin noise including the door trick.

Here’s a comparison based on Consumer Review tests, if you head to acurazine.com you’ll find some more, including comparison with E class Lexus and Mercedes and it’s still the winner. If you want to beat the Acura you’re looking at Mercedes S class.

Toyota Avalon.

I’m not kidding, it’s a Lexus in disguise. Go check one out, cheaper too.

It’s got to be Lexus regardless.

I guess, if you like predator face and mediocre performance.

Give me reliability or give me death, amirite?

LMAO. Check the resale values on those beloved Euros lately?

Sure. Because that's the only reason to buy a luxury car.

Most lease - even Lexus.

. My wife has owned two Avalons, a 2000 xls and a 2006 Limited. The drive trains are almost identical, but their is quite a difference in appointments, and fit and finish on the Lexus. Once she test drove the es350, I knew the Avalon was a goner. The Avalons were very good cars, but the Lexus is another step up the ladder.

Yup, ES is not just a Camry. It feels differently. Don't let her try an LX

And I agree on the ugliness of Yota design..

Avalon is a great car. 300K miles later, it is still worth something, and running well.
I would do the Lexus.
In fact I did, twice this year.
Leased a RX 450h in Feb, bought a 2013 GS 350 F Sport Saturday.
Putnam Lexus, Redwood City, CA (Silicon Valley).

Otherwise think Tesla. But that costs more...

Resale value on most luxury cars are usually pretty low. It's why they're usually a better buy as a used car due to the depreciation.

Rumours has it that Nissan is working on an Infinity model to beat Lexus at their own aesthetics game. It will be based on the Juke. Toyota better watch out!
