Anyone know of any alternatives to Ford's Mercon LV? I'm open to listening to suggestions/opinions and why I should and shouldn't use anything else other than Motorcraft Mercon LV.

@High Performance Lubricants ATF Green or ATF Green CC: https://hplu.be/ATF-PDS - it's just about the best ATF you can get.
There are plenty of aftermarket fluids that are officially licensed Mercon LV carrying official approval from Ford. Any of those will be fine

Mobil 1 LV ATF HP also works, and provides nicer shifts than of the licensed Mercon LV fluids.

You can buy a 5qt jug of Motorcraft LV from RockAuto for around $26 FYI.
Schaeffer also has an ATF that meets LV. I use it in our Super Duty's that call for it.

This is where I got mine. Was the least expensive I found. If you plan on long term before the next change I'd go HLP. I have the 6R80 and I'm following pan drop/fill every 30k with MC LV fluid as I'm averaging 9k and it works for me and my F150.
