Guys-
In my never ending effort to find the perfect deal, came across Oreilly Automotive and they carry Full Syn Motorcraft for 6.99 a qusrt. Now, this aint cheap, but I was going to buy Royal Purple at Walmart for 6.87 for the new 2010 Taurus SHO. I felt the MotorCraft was a better choice instead of the Royal Purple. Now I get a 10 percent discount from WM because I am a retiree, which puts it down to about 6.20 with tax. Problem is that not all WalMarts carry the RP, (it is a store special order item, they carry it if they wish). Mobil 1 EP is 26 bucks for 5 qts.
Just excited to get the full syn Motocraft without going to the dealership and paying 7.99 qt. My experience with Mobil 1 has been great, ran it in a V6 mustang, put 90K on it, inside the valvecovers was spotless. Running it in a 90K Ford Expedition, again perfect. Motors in both sounded brand new on start up. I run the RP in my 98 Cobra, no issues at all. I like RP, maybe its the color, or the fact they have a great promtional program with a lot of emphasis on HP gains. On the 2010 SHO, I am un comfortable with the turbos, and Ford Motorcraft is a great product, and meets all the warranty requirements. RP is not really certified for turbo applications. If I am wrong, someone help me....
What's the verdict?
RP, Mobil 1, or the Full Syn Motorcraft?
