Wife bought a 1999 Cavalier in 2006 with 101k on it for $2700. According to Carfax, it was a rental car for the first part of its life, then some sort of corporate fleet vehicle. Drove it for over 10 years until the transmission finally went out at 237k.

63 Valiant Signet 2 door hardtop: 113,000 [or from what engine wear later uncovered probably 213,000]. 1980. $600. Rebuilt 225 installed in 1988. [1]62,000 miles now.

95 Saturn SL1: 116,000 miles. So solid at that point, I bought an 05 ION when my 99 Cavalier was totaled. Little bro still drives the SL1, nearing 200,000 miles now.

The old Volvo had 294K on the odo when I bought it (along with a 1 in. stack of service records for the car) Odo was broken for 7 years. One of the first things my son and I did was fix the odo by replacing a small plastic gear in the instrument cluster.
