OIl burning is an engine-repair issue and is not directly related to the base-oil type or quality. The quality of the oil will not make a difference unless the NOACK is really bad or the KV and/or HTHSV viscosities are off the specs. You can experiment with thicker oil to reduce the consumption though.
If price is a concern, the likely GTL-based Walmart Super Tech High Mileage 0W-20 Full Synthetic is as good as or probably better than the Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 and at a much lower cost.
The best overall 0W-20 you can buy is Mobil 1 Extended Protection 0W-20.
Here is my personals ratings based on the simultaneous consideration of CCS and NOACK, which infers to some extent the base-oil quality. Note that it doesn't take the additive package into account. Top-rated oils have PAO, followed by GTL-containing oils and then Group III oils. The Genuine Nissan and Genuine Toyota are GTL-based but they later switched the Toyota back to Group III. The Super Tech is likely GTL-based.
