Why not use a diesel optimized product like Mobil's Delvac or Delvac-I or Chevron Delo 400 or Supreme, they are rated higher than CG which if I recall correctly is the rating for Mobil-I, the Delo and Delvac are rated at CI-4 and have a much better additive package for your diesel.

...or cross the border and buy some Esso/ExxonMobil XD-3 0W40, a true diesel-rated synthetic. Dirt cheap as well in Canada.

Agreed: Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40 is optimized for Diesel engines. 0W-40 meets: Delvac 1 far Exceeds....... Delvac 1 is the way to go for any diesel engine....

Apparently due to engine design, some manufacturers won't let you run true HDMOs in their turbodiesels.

I got a shock with my current TD, as I was using Delvac 1 in everything, then my new car owners manual stated that if I used anything greater than CF-4, engine warranty was "conditional".

So I use M10W-40, or Castrol Formula R 0W-40.

Mobil does offer a Delvac 1 with a synthetic base that meets ACEA E5/B4/B3 and API CF, but no higher in Australia.

It's Mobil Delvac 1 SHC 5W-40, which is aimed at the marine market.

It's a different formual than the Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40.

Yes, M1 0W-40 meets/exceeds ACEA's (Euro) "light-duty" diesel specs, but not ACEA's or API's (US) "heavy-duty" diesel specs. (I don't believe API has any "light duty" listing.) It's approved to go 50k km (30k mi) in Opel diesel engines, & is recommended for extended drains (10k mi or more) in many European turbo diesels.

Mickey,
I found that when I was doing my research. Sounded just like what Nissan ordered.

Reply from Mobil was that it isn't available, and is an error on their website. (of which there are quite a few as I discovered).

Thanks anyway.
