I broke down and finally bought a bottle of MMO. After about the 2nd dose, I noticed the engine in my 94 Corolla running smoother, revving more freely, and generally just running peppier.

Well, I recently took a day trip and to my astonishment, calculated my fuel mileage at 44 mpg. My jaw dropped. On the same trip, I fueled up but didn't add any MMO and my fuel mileage was 36 mpg. Granted, part of the difference was slight elevation and wind direction changes, but the absolute far and away best fuel mileage my car has ever got was with MMO. My previous best fuel mileage was around 42 mpg, and that had a lot of coasting down hill in the CO mountains.

I'm going to continue experimenting with the MMO and will report back, but I can literally tell by how my car runs when I use it and when I don't.

Actually, it was probably a bit more then that, because the previous times I refueled, the tank was 1/8th full.

That's one thing I need to work out, because sometimes it's not easy to run the tank until the empty light comes on!

I've read here that many people get lower fuel economy with the recommended dose , but my car loves it.

I also think part of the success with MMO is ethanol fuels. When I first got my car I could get gas without ethanol and it ran fantastic. MMO added to E10 must make up for the decreased lubricity and less BTUs then straight gasoline.

AWESOME. Gentlemans bet: When it comes time to change your oil, add a pint to the oil and run it for the last 500 or so miles. I'll bet you'll notice a difference in how the car runs. Just ask c3po, he couldn't believe how his El Camino ran.

Good to hear, I'm just starting my own MMO trials.

Starting out with the 4/10 ratio and plan on scaling it back to 3/10 then 2/10 based on what I've read on this site.

I'm tempted to try this in my ranger...But I just couldn't put it in the Mustangs/Corvette.

Drew, MMO seems to do something, and I cannot label it as a snakeoil. I know some will say that though. It's a time proven additive in my book.

So when are you going to pour it in the GT:)

Yup, I noticed it in every tank full I used it too. It wasnt so much as pep, but that the engine just runs easier. No gain in mpg for me, but the difference is something I encourage in my small engine gas.

Hope it works better than my SAE 30 ND experiment over 3 tanks. The first two tanks showed a 2-3 mpg improvement but then things went downhill from there with continued use. Treatment rate was a strong 1 oz/ gal or just under 1% or 100/1. I noticed no beneficial changes in low torque or fuel mileage at rates 1 Fuel/oil ratio. Maybe I just have to get my Overdose mindset corrected :)

If you are a good record keeper, mpgs, etc. and have a fine tuned Butt dino you can find the sweet spot. It seems at least in my experience the bigger displacement engines seem to like the 4/10 ratio better. I got lazy, and just use the 4/10 ratio, but during the winter I go a little heavier on the dose. Experiment and see what works best for you and let us know.

I still can't believe the fuel mileage gain. I'm going to track fuel mileage with every tank for a while and do a few runs with and without MMO and see if it's legit. By golly, if I can routinely get a 3 mpg gain from using it, then it'll pay for itself!

Mix 1 part acetone or other solvent with 2 parts light 5 wt naptha oil . voilla. works like a charm. Or just buy mmo. i have used it and had good cleaning results. I have rescued several small engines that were locked up with it. I have also gotten rid of nasty loud valve chatter. Believe it or not!!

I used 7 oz of MMO in the Protege for the last 7-800 miles of it's OCI. I think this was the recommended dosage for a 3.25 qt capacity. Anyway, I saw some very nice cleaning taking place. This was used in syn blend API SL Pennzoil SUV 5w30.

Now the same engine has newer formula PYB and even with 800 miles on the oil it is still clear. Yeah yeah yeah I know color doesn't indicate if the oil is good or bad. Normally the oil at this point would be pretty dark brown. So for the Protege 1.5L engine I have seen excellent improvement using MMO.

Is it the new formula Pennzoil or because I used MMO last change? I would say the MMO did some **extra** cleaning that the engine needed.

That sounds like my experience. However, I am adding 1 pint to my oil at the beginning of the oil change in my 99SL2. Highway fuel mileage has been close to 35 mpg. I have had this car over 6 1/2 years and this is the best fuel mileage I have gotten. I still add Fuel Power (FP60) to my gas every fill up. The change was using MMO in the oil since last fall.

I run a pint of MMO in my wifes car last oil change for the entire interval. Her oil never turns black, it always comes out dark brown in 4000 to 5000 miles, when I put the MMO in and ran it the whole oil change it came out black as coal. I tried the same thing with my Dodge Hemi and it was the same, it ran smoother and got better gas milelage with Synthetic blend 10w30 and a pint of MMO then it is currently getting with Full synthetic 5w20, plus the oil is staying brown. I have to believe MMO cleans out your motor, I will be going on a steady diet of it after this oil change, my buddy went a full qt for the whole oil change in his Hemi and his milelage went up 2 miles per gallon, which is alot in a hemi, runs super smooth with no lifter tick at all. I am sold on the stuff.

I added MMO to a full tank left me by my dad (Thanks, Dad!) in my 1999 Buick LeSabre. I felt when the MMO-laced gas entered the engine as the knock counts on my ScanGauge fell from an occasional 2-3* of knock retard at a constant 65 mph on flatter ground to 0* at the same speed when on flatter ground. This was at ~1/2 the recommended dosage, or ~4 oz to 18 gallons.

Many of you have good results with MMO in the fuel system, I don't doubt that at all, but my personal experience with MMO is opposite, I did not post my experience before today because I don't want to get into a fight with anyone.

About 8-10 months ago, I poured 6oz MMO in '00 E430 22 gallon tank at near empty then pump the gas to mix it well, the engine immediately felt sluggish and MPG of that tank was about 8-10% less than previous tanks. I ran that tank down to near empty then filled up at the same gas station, the engine performance was back to normal at less than 2-3 miles from the gas station. Since then I did not try MMO again in the fuel system.

But I had good experience with MMO in engine, it seems to clean the not so dirty engine very well. I'll use MMO again in the engine again but not in fuel system, unless I want to experience it again to make sure that I did not get a bad gas tank at the same time I had MMO in it, chance for it to happen is very rare.

From reading this thread I'd say the success rate is very high with MMO. It is this kind of testimony that some companies only dream they could have, honest real world testimony of positive results. There is a trend here, many people that had doubts but are open minded and are trying it for themselves. After that they can speak honestly, good or bad based on their own observations and not something they were lead to believe by reading negative comments.

From what I'm reading here many have experienced benefits from it in the oil and the gas. It makes me happy to have been using it as long as I have. What I like is it works with any oil. It cleans sludge and varnish from cast iron and aluminum engines, and members are seeing benefits from adding to gas as well.

As the title said I'm an MMO believer! Written by someone with an open mind, who might have had some doubt, and wanted to prove it to himself.

My mpg gains were and as dramatic as the OP, but I can tell when I have it in the gas or oil. The engine just runs better IMO.

HTSS_TR if you should ever try it in the gas again, start with a slightly lower dose than they suggest. As you mentioned there is a slight, very slight chance you might have gotten some bad gas. Glad your experiences with it in the oil were positive.

You really scare me sometimes.
