Mixing gear oils

Hi guys,

Do you think I can mix RP Synchromax with RP 75W140 ? Viscosity at 100° would be around 14,5 cSt, gearbox calls for 74W85 GL4 oil (Hyundai Accent 2007).

Reason is these are the only two oils I can find locally tht are not 80W90 GL5, and I need to do the OC tomorrow (I know...).

I wouldn't worry about thickening it up, and skip the 140.

Isn’t the Synchomax very thin compared to 75W85 ?

I ended up finding some RP 75W90, and just used that tonight. Horribly expensive, but to my delight the oil itself was purple! Useless, but very fancy. So far so good, it’s shifting better than with factory fill

I hesitated a lot with plain Synchromax, but finally chose the 75W90 route...not a lot of choice locally here in Canada, even online...
