So here is what j mentioned yesterday. A MileGuard M0-3614 filter with a fill of QSAD 5w30 in a 2014 Ford Escape 2.0 Eco Boost. SUV has now 20k on it and it's my co workers ride. I put in some VWB 5w30 and a WIX filter. Looks ok to me. I didn't remember to get date code but remember seeing some end and it was I believe April 2015. Enjoy the pics guys

Thanks for the cut open and pics!

Did the end caps still have a solid feel? Co-worker mention anything about start up rattle?

The end caps felt fine. Co worker said it didn't have any start up rattle. He said looks like a cheap filter; I said "for being made by FRAM, it did well." That's my thoughts

At least the end caps did not fall off that much we know.

Still on the fence about metal and fiber end caps, and which one provides the better bond/seal between the media and caps.

I'm on the fence on getting a CARQUEST red filter for the girls' car. Seeing a "hybrid ULTRA" since the one I cut open looked good

You have certainly earned that beer for all the filter cutting you do. I'm glad you are enjoying a good one.

R80RS: yep! I'll be cutting open a MC-810 from a 2014 Hyhndai Santa Fe tomorrow that had MC synblend 5w20 and 8,500k on it and the valvoline(Purolator made) from a 14' Eco boost 2.0 Escape. Stay tuned guys and ladies

Plastic and cardboard. Eh, no thanks. The pleats are straight though. Thanks for the cut and post!

It looks fine ... end caps are flat, straight and sealed, which is all they have to do. Plastic is actually high temperature nylon which takes the environment with no problems. I like bypass valves with an actual coil spring.

Looks very good especially since it came off an ecoboost which seems to have a reputation for being hard on oil
